Luke Fong, CEO of Lateral Plains, wasappointed to the BGT Jobs & Training Ballarat (BGT) Board as a Director, attheir AGM on 22nd October.
Mr Fong’s background running a regional MSP, and taking it from near-shutdown to being named MSP 501 Executive of theYear for Australia in 2024, ensures he brings expertise across technology and proven knowledge of what building a resilient business takes. His appointment will allow the board to understand and manage digital and cyber risk, support the responsible adoption of new technology (including AI and automation), and align IT withlong-term goals and growth.
Mr Fong says BGT’s mission aligns with his own – supporting the Ballarat community to thrive. “BGT does what I care about most: giving young people in our region a real start and giving local employers a pipeline of capable people. I’ve watched how important that is from the employer side, and I’m ready to contribute from the governance side.”
